We also use pennies on a continual basis - so I just leave them in a container in various states of green and sticky until I need them! The are perfect for investigating heat transfer when we work with ice balloons (http://www.exploratorium.edu/afterschool/activities/docs/iceballoons.pdf ) and always a great way to measure how much weight a bridge can handle! And just pennies per pieces!
